SAFE Family Ministries

Don retired after 33 years as a Federal Bank Examiner. He had been responsible for an annual department budget of $20 million. Additionally, he managed a separate $20 million project to build an international information technology center. Don has also been a successful small business owner and real estate developer since 1975. He is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelors degree in Finance. Don has also been involved in ministry for much of his life and is an ordained Minister, serving as Associate Pastor of Dayspring Baptist Church in Chehalis, WA. His parents were missionaries and his experience in the mission field instilled in Don a lifetime understanding of Christian Service to those in need and to the lost.

Pastor Gene is an ordained Minister who has successfully pastored 6 churches over the past 43 years. He retired from full time vocational ministry in September of 2005 and is now the Interim Pastor for Grand Mound Baptist Church in Centralia, WA and leading the Ministry/Outreach Ministry for the Southwest Washington Baptist Association. Pastor Gene has also worked as a Chaplain in Hospitals and Fire Stations over the past 40 years and God has used him to often bring troubled churches to restoration and growth in God's Kingdom work. Additionally, he has been on missionary crusades to Peru, Chile, Brazil and several of the States in the US. As a pastor, he has also dealt with a great deal of administration, managing budgets and supervising and motivating volunteers. Pastor Gene has often been involved in many areas of civic work, as a city Councilman, and working with various non-profit civic groups. He has also served as the Treasurer, Vice President and President of Ministerial Groups such as the Southwestern Washington Baptist Association and the Northwest Baptist Convention. Pastor Gene spent eight years on the Executive Board of the NW Baptist Convention and was the convention's Vice President in 1999. Pastor Gene is married to Carol and they have 6 children, 3 by adoption and 9 grandchildren. Over their lives together, they spent 17 years caring for foster children and had 197 total children in their care over that time

Dr. Duncan is a licensed Psychiatrist who retired from practice with Kaiser Permanente in Vancouver and Longview in 2002, after five years. His previously practiced in Portland, OR for thirty one years. This work consisted of caring for general psychiatric patients, both inpatient and outpatient and hospital consultation when needed, serving on hospital and medical society committees, keeping the minutes of the practice association meetings, and working to establish the Legacy-Caremark Behavioral Health system at Good Samaritan and Emanuel Hospitals. Prior to his career in Psychiatry, he practiced family medicine for five years in San Diego, CA, after a year of family practice residency and two years as a Naval Medical Officer with the U. S. Marines. During the years in San Diego, the fellowship and sustaining contact of the Christian Medical-Dental association had high priority and short-term mission trips were taken into Mexico. Elmore and his wife, Elizabeth, also supported the College Avenue Baptist Church and were active in the educational and music program. They were also were involved with Campus Crusade for Christ Ministry. While in Portland, the family attended Cedar Hills Baptist church. Currently they are members at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Chehalis. Elizabeth is also retired from her psychiatric Nurse practitioner career, and with the three grown children, she also supports the mission of SAFE Family ministries with volunteer activities.

Bob is a state licensed plumber with over 20 years of experience and has owned and operated Braden Plumbing since 1985. Additionally, his background in ministry leadership includes teaching, youth ministry, music ministry over the past 20 years and he is currently the Worship Leader and an ordained Deacon at Dayspring Baptist Church, Chehalis, WA. Bob is married to Kay and enjoys her active support and participation in SAFE Family Ministries. Bob is one of nine children and is grateful that he was lead to Christ as a child by his loving and supportive parents. He has a strong desire to assist families in need of good role models and lacking honorable or loving male influences.

Pastor Chris is an ordained Minister and currently the Senior Pastor of Dayspring Baptist Church in Chehalis, WA. He has been a farmer for most of his life working with diversified crops from dryland wheat to irrigated fruit and row crops. He has been a partner on a large irrigated and dryland farm, supervising employees, helping with a budget, working with banks and federal agencies. He recently has operated his own dryland farm supervising seasonal employees, managing equipment, budgeting, projecting future goals, working with the bank loan officer and federal agricultural agencies. He is a graduate of The Master's College with a BA in Biblical Studies. He is currently working toward a certificate in Biblical Counseling through the National Association of Nouthetic Counseling. He has been an Elder for 11 years and a Pastor for 4 years.
